Implantable eye Telescope that magnifies vision

A miniature telescope that is implanted in the eye to solve problems has now been developed and has been approved for use in US.This new device has been specifically developed for people who have a special advanced form of macular degeneration in which a blind spot develops in the central vision of both eyes.

The telescope replaces the eyes natural lens and can provide a magnified image of almost 3 times. The device then projects the image onto a healthy part of the retina(the part of the eye which captures light). It can only be used in one eye because the other is needed for peripheral vision.patients who receive this telescope then need rehabilitation to help retrain there brain to merge the views from 2 eyes into a single image. It is targeted for people above the age of 75 with sever vision impairment caused by blind spots.

This marvelous piece of technology will definitely have a big impact.People with the horrible disease can now be cured and can once again see as they used to before.
